HI, I was reffering to FF zoom lenses which never venture that short
into 15mm land AFAIK. FF 15mm lenses are the 10mm of APS in terms
of design parameters So I wouldnt expect one to perform
as well as a 16mm aps lens even with the FF cropping on
aps.

When it comes to distortion, I dont care about numbers
or percentages, etc. If I can EVER notice it in a real
photo, any real photo, not a test pattern, it really
nags me. Now if you are talking a 15mm FF or a 10mm aps
lens, some visible distortion is probably just a fact of life
for any lens made for 35mm old school (long registration)
SLRs because of the extreme retrofocus design.

On large format, without any retrofocus, it might
be possible to completely eliminate all visisble
distortion that wide, but on a DSLR, Im not going to beleive
it until I see it at 10mm APS / 15mm FF.

But none of them are wide enough to replace even this zoom, let alone
the 12-24. For those of us who must shoot wide, there are few options.
(BTW, the A 15 distorts a lot more than the DA* 16-50 at 16mm or the
DA12-24 @ 12 mm.
