Thanks, Joe M., Jack, Dave B., Bob W., Walt, and Paul. Your kind remarks
are very much appreciated--and:
Jack: The 1st candid I set to strong contrast in Lightroom, but the others
were mostly medium and 1 linear. Jamie is linear, I believe; Jamie's
portrait is actually my fav of the bunch. I do like to up the blacks quite
a bit because when printing on the Epson Velvet paper I just love the deep
blacks it produces. I've printed all four shots and I really like the way
they look. I'm giving the prints to the Barrowmans for Christmas, though I
can imagine not being able to wait & giving them to them sooner :-). But,
in general, yes, I like a stronger contrast. When printing on Epson's Ultra
premium matte paper, I actually like a warmer tone but strong contrast as
well; I don't like how the neutral looks on this paper, but the warmer tone
looks nice to my eye. For the construction project, I'm using the Epson
Ultra Prem. Matte with the warm tone & it looks decent.
Walt: A great idea. I should definitely make this a project. Thanks for
suggesting it.
Thanks again everyone. Gosh I'm tired. I'm going to bed.
Cheers, Christine

Superb work. I think you've found your calling. Seriously. Nicely done.

Hi Everyone:
I had an amazing experience yesterday at my friends, the Barrowmans:
For about 20-30 minutes I followed the Barrowman family around their
house with my camera. I have always wondered if I'd like doing that
sort of thing, and I discovered I do. I've never really done this sort
of thing before, and I can now imagine that I'd like to try it again.
Here are 4 shots of Belinda, Jamie, and little Jimmy Barrowman.
K20D, long DA* lens, high ISOs, Lightroom rendering. Also of note, I
again tried the adjustment brush to do some burning (lamp light next to
little Jimmy) & dodging (hint of dodging on Belinda's face in the shot
where she's on the phone), as well as the skin softener. I think I'm
really starting to like this tool.
