FWIW - Just went thru my July 08 images of the Angels in Traverse City,
Michigan and noticed no #4, in either the show or the practices in the
preceeding days. Have a few of the 6 man formation with the # 4 absent. We
thought at the time that there must have been a mechanical, preventing a
full formation - I thought they would have flown the plane (#7) used for
media flights.

Yes, they were both courts martialed last week. I don't know what the
punishments were but you can almost guarantee that it will spell the
end of the pilot's career. As to the enlisted female, it's hard to
say.
As a retired navy man and as a past OIC in command of troops, I feel
saddened that such problems still exist in this day and age. I feel
that it could have been handled much sooner in a less career ending
manner. Then again, I don't know all the insights so I may be wrong.

Hang on to those excellent Blue Angels shots, Joe. There will only be two
shows - ever - that I know of with plane #4 not flying. Pilot did a
bad-bad
with a female support personnel. Mother Navy grounded him for a time-out,
or
a courts martial!

I took the K20 to an air show featuring the Blue Angels among others
nice war birds. Had a great day with really fine weather!
These are my first nine shots that I picked from 247 total. I used the
Tamron 70~300 LD zoom mostly at 300mm. I think I need a 300 f 2.8 or
f4. Oh well, someday maybe!
