I agree with the other comments.  The lighting in the first image is
excellent and the contrast between the old and new building facades adds
interest.

Regarding the barrel distortion in image two, I've used Panorama Tools
(free plug-in for Photoshop) effectively on several occasions to fix
this problem.  Panorama Tools works well in older versions of Photoshop
(I use it in Version 6).
