I have been thinking of getting one of the cheap "netbooks" that have
appeared over the last year or so. Today I saw an Acer and a Toshiba that
both had 1gb of RAM and a 100+GB hard drive and were running XP. That seems
like the ideal travel computer to me, something that has plenty of storage
space for downloaded photos and is able to run the usual windoze and Adobe
apps.

That last part is important (but not vital) to me and I was wondering if
anyone was using one of the most recent netbooks with PS CS2 or CS3 and how
you fared. I'm not expecting to do any intensive work, but was hoping to be
able to download and view RAW files without spending forever waiting for the
screen to redraw etc.

In the past I've travelled with an ancient Toshiba Libretto running win 2000
and PS7 on 64mb. It was doable, but only just. I'm hoping to stick with the
same small form factor but with much better performance. 1GB seems like it
should be plenty but I have no idea how the processors in them stack up.
