like i said, wrong country, wrong culture. nothing can be more
mainstream and middle-class than motorcycles in India. no hell's angels
or bad ass pretensions. just a convenient tool that can get you to work

for a lot of us, the preferred mode of long distance travel.

Very good pt. Glad to know use there does not imply bad assness. Thanks for
"taking me to task" for my cultural/national shortsightedness. ;-)
Unfortunately I have not been out of the US, although I wish I had. (Just over
the
border to Mexico and Canada).

places like these see at the most 5-10 motorcycles a year. small
cubic capacity motocycles (200-350 cc) that are mostly very fuel
efficient and whose emissions can be handled pretty well by the
environment because the numbers are so few....objecting to motorcycles
in nature spots also i feel conveniently pushes moral responsibility
for pollution, for the environment, elsewhere. the US remains the
largest emission of green house gases by a huge huge margin. like i
said, that's just my take...or my justification, if you can call it that
for motorcycling to places like the himalayas... apart from
enjoying myself immensely :-)

Well, that's good to hear about very few visiting. Hey, I know. The US
totally hoovers on the global warming situation. I do fervently hope that that
will change and we will improve. Fingers crossed.

thanks for looking, regards, subash

Thanks for being a nice guy.
