If it won't fire, it's either the circuit was fired, or poorly repaired 
before. There are many wires connected to the button underneath. The switch 
on the Battery Pack A could be broken quite easily as well (but could be 
fixed). And the worst of all, there is a rubber inside the MDA act as a 
cushion which could get sticky due to age. Replacement from Pentax might not 
be available, but u can custom made it yourself (I did and worked). Sticky 
rubber can slow down the winding speed significantly, or won't fire at all.
