I just got a ZX-5n to replace/supplement my old SuperProgram. Looking
through the manual, on page 57 it states that in aperture priority mode
multi-segment metering can only be used with F and FA lenses. Is this a
mistake in the manual? Some experimenting with my A lenses seems to
indicate that multi-segment metering works.

Also, has anyone ever modified an M lens to provide the electrical
maximum aperture contacts (insulators actually) to make the camera think
it is an A lens. I'm thinking some carefully applied fingernail polish
would allow multi-segment metering in aperture priority mode with M
lenses. (Of course if it works, a more durable solution would be the
logical next step.)
