Over here in Britain there's a TV programme which I've never seen called The X Factor, which is a talent show. The winner was chosen this weekend, and the timing of it is such that the winner will almost certainly have the Christmas Number 1 record in the popular music charts, which is a big deal with the tabloid-reading members of society.
