Alright. I'm a Western American. I grew up in the wide-open spaces of the desert, and I know my way around firearms. That said, I'm not going to tell you whether I am "pro gun" or "pro gun control" (and don't make any assumptions, either).
This firearms debate is basically intractable. "Gun Nuts" and "Gun Grabbers" both think that they are right, that God is on their side, and that the other side is either sadly mistaken or just plain evil. As a result, carefully worded arguments, snide comments, and diatribes are not valuable. They will not "magically" convince the "other side". What they actually do is upset almost everyone on the list. Trying to get the last word with a snide little remark is especially offensive. It makes you look like a self-righteous idiot. If you are a rational, thinking person, you must know that gun and gun control threads are not about Pentax photographic equipment. This is a list dedicated to Pentax photographic equipment. TAKE IT OFF THE LIST. Even if your argument is correct. ESPECIALLY if your argument is correct.
