But I have 6 Varta 2CR5 Lithium batteries, unopened, that expire in

The same goes for 6 extra unopened Sanyo CR123A Lithiums that I have
been hoarding to use with my Zoom 90-WR. "Use by 2011"
Both types say the warranty expires 1 year from date of purchase, so
you're SOL there.
