Kristian, My PZ-1 has the capability to set 2 pre-set focal lengths on the lens. You zoom out to your desired focal length and then press that little switch. The camera remembers your focal length and recalls it when you press the button right there by the switch.
It is a little used feature and I don't know if the MZ-5n has anything similar, so it would be unusable for you. Regards, Bob S.
