I mostly ran the car with just the Tonneau cover, with a cloth top stored just in case of heavy rain. I'd run the Tonneau cover into late Nov/early Dec with the heater on full bore, a hat and gloves - a little snobbish back then! . I also had the factory fibreglass top which I'd use for the deep winter months.

I remember having to change the transmission oil from a petroleum to a mineral base so it could be shifted when it got really cold. With the petroleum, when really cold, on start up, I'd have to hold the shift lever in the chosen slot or it would move by itself to where it previously was until the trans got warm.

Ken,
That brings back some memories.
I love the tauno cover, no need to put the top up!
I had worse luck in grad school with a Sunbeam Alpine.
Great summer cars, but I bet you froze in the winter.

These two images are not posted for any of their photographic content but
for the memories.
I came across these two slides taken over 42 years ago - probably on a
Voightlander folder or a Zeiss Ikon Contessa. I was surprised by the
original slide format - 27mm square. Film was Kodak Kodachrome. The years or the film have given these image an almost monochrome appearance. Scanned on
my Nikon Super Coolscan 4000ED.

The images are of a 59 Austin Healy Sprite (Bugeye) that was my first real car. Got me thru college with only regular oil/filter changes, a tune up or
two and a set of Michelin radial tires.

The most fun for the buck in a car that I've ever had.
