Hi Dave,
I checked my jpeg settings. I'm plus one on contrast and sharpness, default on 
saturation. Those are somewhat conservative, but the company I'm shooting for 
does the final processing, so I recall that I decided to leave them some room 
for additional tweaks. But the shots right out of camera look nice at these 
settings. However, if I were going to shoot jpegs for my own use (which I have 
never done), I'd probably go with plus two on the sharpness and contrast and 
maybe plus one on the saturation. In any case, the default settings will yield 
somewhat flat results.
