Thanks for commenting. You're perfectly entitled in not getting the message, as I often do with many pictures. Some pictures speak to everybody, while others speak to someone. Others just don't speak. Sometimes the message the observer gets is not the one the author was trying to send. That could be fine too. In #21, my intent was to make the building "scream", if I can say that, hence the oversharpening, the high contrast and so on. That inspired the composition and then the strong rendering. In #22, by removing color and disturbing details (by setting high contrast) I wanted to remove a lot of unneeded disturbing stuff for giving more weight to the two figures in the foreground and the other human subject in the background. That editing succeded in giving those figures a more prominent role in the picture (compared to the original shot). If I also succeded in getting a good picture, I don't know.

Hi, Dario. I get the feeling you have rendered these two images just the way you wanted. They speak to you in a way that you understand, but I'm not privileged to receive the same message. #21 is super sharpened and both have been given super contrast to a point approaching "high key". I like the apparent rhythm and coordination that appears to be the case with the two figures on the steps in #22.
Composition in both is well done.

Hi all,

These two pictures have been taken by me in Gubbio one
month ago:

http://www.dariobonazza.com/misc/misc22e.htm

Do you know the story of St. Francis and the wolf of
Gubbio? Sorry, no more wolves around.

Any comments on the pictures? Like them or not? Why?

Dario
