Reminds me of that old story about the Novell server which had been running so long that it had gotten covered with concrete and built into a wall. When it was finally found and someone tried to upgrade it, it fell to pieces after it was shut off and no-one could get it running again. I actually had similar happen to me: one of my servers had been running in a high humidity environment for so long that, when I powered it down (for the first time in about four years) to upgrade it, the *motherboard* just rotted away. The damn thing crumbled away in my hands. I think the electrons were the only thing holding it together. Win2k hasn't been around long enough, but I'd expect similar longetivity. I'm doubtful about XP though. dave "a computer jinx" - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. To unsubscribe, go to http://www.pdml.net and follow the directions.
