Bob That's a very sensible thought, thanks! Maybe I will look at the 35, 28 and 24 lenses that are available, and attempt to ignore those that rave about the 77's bokeh on the list (I need more will power - in common with many PDMLers it seems!) Wide is probably the way to go for me as I enjoy taking pictures in cities and enclosed spaces. The 50 and especially the 85 are fun for people shots but I admit to finding the 50 annoyingly long sometimes.
I'd never really thought about fast wides before as I tend to use them stopped down a bit. I don't recall seeing any wide angle shots that take advantage of small DOF. I must look out for this. Mantra: I don't need a limited lens, I don't need a limited lens... Comments welcome on the choice of wide angles. I think I already know to steer clear of the M28/2.8 - I suppose that does not qualify as fast anyway.
