Had the first three rainy days in a loong time this week, and liked the change... since the rain is fairly warm and at the same time cools down the city a little.

Got tired of losing the close encounters and switched the hood in my 50mm for a reverse adapter and #1 extension ring. Now I'm macro-able, but the wind got too intense for that kind of work in the streets. Go figure...

Joseph, numbers 2, 4 and 9 worked well for me - did you get closer?

A few shots I took the other day. It was overcast so the light level low, just as it was with the Study in Chain Link, shot at the same time (mostly).

I was working with the DA 50-200, and was about as close as it would focus, hand held, at 200mm or less. #9 (Grass and Moss) was certainly a fluke, being as sharp as it is. Being overweight, with knee arthritis and wearing boots that were too big, standing still without swaying back and forth is impossible. But for that 1/45th of a second, I guess I was able to stay within the capabilities of the sensor twitching motor.

The reason for the long zoom was I was shooting photos of the dogs at the Lowell Dog Park, as I do most every day. I usually don't carry anything other than this lens or the DA 18-250. I do have my Z10 with me all the time, and writing this reminded me that I have the capability there of super macro shots. I'll try some today.

Here in Everett, we're getting pretty tired of the weather. Of anyplace in Puget Sound, Everett is the one spot that has not been out of the fog or total overcast for almost two weeks. And today's forecast confirms that it may be the same until Wednesday, when it will rain. :-)
