Ouch... sorry, for me and some MPB stands for Musica Popular Brasileira
- Brasilian Pop Music wich was part of my parents' soundtrack... and is
still part of mine. The listed are my "Foreign Soundtrack", opposite to
my 2-part "National Soundtrack" composed mainly by Brasilian Popular and
Fado - a Portuguese "Must".
No baldness so far - just a good amount of white, mixed to the original
brown. Now your post really made sense...
The time I wore my hair long I had no worry about safety - wich I
usually don't anyway, except two times I had to let the critters notice
I already had my hand full of metals and gunpowder. They left in a
hurry. Somehow a hairy and bearded LF seems less of a potential victim.
LF
ps: do you wish to be adressed as sir???

Second time around, Joseph. When I did cut my hair years ago, the gal
at the shop asked me three times if I was sure... and then asked
again. For me it's no big deal, either short or long - in the middle
is the problem, as it's all over the wind. I do get by a little
better with short hair and shaved - only now and then someone tries
to rob me. No such problems with long hair and bearded, who knows why...
Ditto, except the robbed part. Don't think the a-holes who broke into
my car knew anything about my hair length.
For the record, I'm only part-time MPB... being exposed to foreign
influences like Doors, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, The Who, Yes,
Genesis, Led Zep... then Quiet Riot, Great White, Cinderella, Twisted
Sister... not to forget newcomers like Offspring, Metallica, Angra...
That was sure to balance a Classic/ MPB/ Fado childhood.
But lately I'm hearing lots of kid music...
You came up with a definition of MPB that I still can't figure out. I
was referring to Male Pattern Baldness. But your music tastes
certainly mirror mine for the most part. My childhood was Classic/Folk
Songs/Musicals. Standing around the piano singing Old Man River,
Oklahoma, Swanee River, Workin' on the Railroad to my mother's
accompaniment.

I hear your pain, Luiz. My hair is now down to my shoulders. I
actually went out and bought some headbands last week so I didn't
have to wear a hat all time to keep my hair out of the way. Growing
into my avatar...
Sorry about mentioning this, all you 40 somethings with that MPB,
but I have to have something to brag about at 66.5 yrs. :-)
Tail long! Whew!
