In this situations (being worried about 'minor' things), my Mother in Law
usually says (rough translation): 'God forgive us'.
It works for me !

You don't need to be specially religious, it is just a reminder that there are
important things in life and then others...I am sure you can imagine many
situations when you would PAY so that your biggest problem is having to buy a
couple of new tires and postpone for a while a new zoom lens.

So this afternoon I tried to go to Keeble & Shuchat, the biggest camera shop in
the Bay Area, to get a DA* 16-50. A friend of mine works there and told me
they were liquidating their Pentax stock, mostly because the old rep (same one
we had at my old shop) is no longer with Pentax. Apparently Pentax USA hasn't
been paying much attention to K&S since he left, so K&S decided to just drop
the brand altogether.

My friend got me a pretty good price on the 16-50, and even though it was a
little more than B&H (plus tax and gas (50+ miles each way)), I figured it was
worth it to support a local (relative to B&H) business and an old friend.

Well, Google Maps failed me miserably and I wasn't able to find the damn place
before it closed. It was the first time an online map was so incredibly wrong
for me. On the way back, I was so frustrated I decided I needed to get
something else to fill the void where the lens was supposed to be, and went to
four big box stores looking for Rock Band 2 for the Nintendo Wii. It was sold
out everywhere.

Then I got home and noticed my right front tire is nearly BALD. Fuck! Now I
need a couple new tires, and that just throws everything else out the window.

Sorry to vent. Frustrated beyond belief. 3+ hours of driving for NOTHING.

John
