All my numbers, including cells, are listed here:

https://www.donotcall.gov/

In theory, you could collect $2500 from this caller for every call they made if your number is on the list. This threat usually stops any callers in their tracks - mucho apologies - no more calls. Charitable orgs. can
still call, and the gov'ts.

It's worked for me for 8 years, through several moves. Note: as of
February 2008, you no longer have to re-register every couple of years. The
number is permanently registered.

Our gorvernment just put a DNCL in place in Canada. My guess is that the
call centers will move from Halifax to someplace in South Asia.

The wife say a local news cast the other day, and they stated the DNCL
was selling the numbers.

Not sure if its true or not, but man, what a scam if it is.

If I read the US website correctly, the lists of numbers are in fact available to any concern for the express reason of NOT calling them. How else could the dinner interrupters know not to call that number. Perhaps they have to pay a fee to receive the list. It would certainly be a good investment, to avoid paying the fines, and help pay for the record keeping.
