Fortunately this list is more passionate about other things than measurbation.
I agree with Godfrey. Digital SLRs have long since passed the
threshold where Good became Good Enough. For most applications anyway.

Cameras are a tool. Sometimes you need a new tool because the one you
have isn't quite suited to the job at hand. Sometimes you just want a
nicer tool than the old tool you already have.
But the camera doesn't do the job by itself. If it could, it wouldn't
need you.
The most important tool is the eye of the photographer looking through
the viewfinder.
[If you're wondering, I've been busy and am now trying to catch up the
list. I'm going through the digests backwards to see if anything catches
my eye, so some comments may cover points already made elsewhere. Sorry
'bout that.]
