My girlfriend might not entirely agree with that sentiment. :)
Even if I were able to get an A* 85 for $600, realistically I'd
probably be better off investing that money upgrading my K100 to a
K20. As was discussed in another thread, the speed with depth of field
would do me more good than the speed with less depth of field. And, if
I could get a stop of speed in the sensor, then that would transfer to
all of my lenses, rather than just getting one lens that's 2/3 of a
stop faster than my FA77.
And, to be honest, even if the 85 were a better lens than the 77, I'm
not such a good photographer that it would make a noticable difference
in my shots.
All that aside, I wants the shiny.
