Damn you, Bill Robb ;-)
That website just sucked me in for an hour at least . "Ninja Parade Passes
through Town Unnoticed Again" is an absolute gem.

On the topic of Sony POS, my wife got a Sony mp3 player a couple of years
back. Sometime later got a flag from my firewall about its music library
software accessing the internet. Some digging revealed that when it was
installed it had asked that *dat files be registered to itself, by burying
reference to *dat amongst a raft of legitimate file types. Sony claimed
that *dat was the extension of a karaoke lyric file, but that sounds to me
like a bullshit excuse, especially as *dat has for many years been the
extension of user data files in WinExporer and associated apps.

Sony was attempting to upload from my computer to one of their servers the
contents of my *dat files, and therefore my browsing history. Bastards.

Regards, Anthony
