My one previous participation in the photography weekend at GFM was
2004. I have wanted to go back every year since but there was always
a higher priority item on the schedule for that weekend. I really
intend to do it this year.
Short story: I am thinking of flying into Charlotte on Wednesday
afternoon May 27, spending Thursday in the Linville Gorge region,
then on to GFM Thursday late afternoon or Friday morning.
Since I am flying, I'll be looking for accommodations on the mountain.
Anyone else interested in arriving early and linking up? My
preference would be for camping, but of course won't have camping/
cooking gear with me.
Longer story: If I fly, I will carry, at most, a bivy sack rather
than a tent. I'll have a rental car/van. My plans may change somewhat
if my wife decides to join us - she would probably fly into Charlotte
on Thursday at the earliest. I plan to go back down to Charlotte
Sunday afternoon, fly home Monday morning, June 1. Subject to any
limitations potentially arising from my wife's schedule, my own
schedule is somewhat flexible. I could go/return on different days, I
don't really have to fly into Charlotte if something else is more
convenient...
