oe, Way too much. I scratched the K10D plastic screen resting on an uncovered screw head in transit. Cost much more than $100 to ge it fixed. Something about having to take the camera apart. Regards, Bob S.
I took a bit of clear contact "paper" and cut a piece to fit over the LCD on my K10D, so if I did scratch anything, I'd scratch the cover instead of the screen.
The wide, heavy duty 3M brand clear packing tape works as well. I used that on my *ist-D.
Or you can get the self seal laminating sheets they sell at office supply shops like Staples or Office Depot/Office Max
I'm following the principle that says it's cheaper to replace a scratched UV or Skylight filter than to replace a scratched front lens element.
