The crazy young guy was probably Brad Dobo, but could also have been Kirkland Ramsey III. At about the same time there was also a person, whose name I forget, who was enough of a script kiddy and troublemaker to send inflammatory spoofed emails posing as legitimate members. I got into deep shit over a message from me that I never sent, it took me some time to sort out that trouble, and had some convinced that I was The Who. Eventually he left when he set up a rival Pentax forum and tried to poach our membership. I wonder if that forum is still online.
And then there was Bruce Rubenstein who seemed like a decent guy, but turned out to be a fanboy for Another Brand who was trolling us for our indignant responses. I totally forget his name, it is better left in the misty past. However, that's not what I really remember. I remember asking lots of newbie questions; labeling them newbie questions. WW was very helpful, graywolf too, and lots and lots of others. I must have asked about ten or more newbie questions over a period of months. I was totally impressed with the willingness to share experience and knowledge, so I stayed -- dropping off list now and then. Mainly when I got too busy to keep my mailbox cleared out. Or simply when it got so full that I was kicked off list. ;-) I also remember appreciating frank well before a lot of others did. But that may be self-flattering hindsight. Heh.
