Don't you shoot some handheld work as well? When I was producing a lot
of commercials, we'd occasionally go for a handheld, moving camera
look. And I see sometimes see news clips that move through crowds or
record other active events that appear to be shot handheld -- or
shoulder held as it were. Just curious.
I have to shot some video of a blues singer for youtube, and I'm
thinking I'll try to handhold it and move the camera a bit. Otherwise,
I'm afraid it might feel too static. Now, if I had a dolly and some
track that would be different:-).

Yeah, the Steadicam is an optional accessory. :)
Good point.
Actually you can buy lenses with IS in them, but to be honest, no self
respecting cameraman (or woman) would. No point - we use tripods.
And of course, they are not cheap......
