Upon a more throough, and wine-assisted, contemplation of the book, my above comments stand. I would like to add that I was particularly impressed by the editors' careful placement of the photographs, with the photos on facing pages being chosen either to echo or counterpoint each other, often with a sense of humor. On a related note, I would like to thank Mark for "taking a bullet" and putting one of his opposite mine. (Or is the point to make his own work look better in contrast?) I'm also astounded by the uniform quality of the work. Considering how open our submissions policy was, surely someone would submit something substandard? Nope. Every photograph in the book belongs there. Having seen my share of camera club, county fair, Flickr, etc., collections, this is amazing to me. I thought I might pick favorites, but it's pointless. It's been a slow year for me so far. It's winter, and it's easier to stay inside. The book makes me want to get out there and shoot something, so I have something next year that will live up to the standard we've set. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
