Whiningly yours... :-) Bet you'll feel better if you just trash this and move on, readers.... ============ I'm dyslexic, as a lot of people on this list know. That means when I write a long post, it takes me a long time. I have to proof a lot to make sure I don't have too many run-on sentences, haven't dropped a word from a sentence (I do that a lot), haven't switched phrases around so the meaning is lost, and just to cut down on my wordiness and try to be more concise. So editing I chop a lot out (which is why I have to double check a lot to make sure that I didn't take out too much and haven't left words out). So I understand, somewhat. OTOH, I am also a very fast reader, also probably resulting from my dyslexia. I think a lot of people project too much based on their own experience and ignore those with reading problems, of which there are quite a few. Electronic devices will never be big sellers with anyone having any kind of reading problem and with those for whom the language is not their primary language but a secondary language. They also won't be big sellers for those still unable to afford a computer (tons) and those who would be able to buy electronic reading devices. Unlike Mark I don't think we will see them sell for 6.95 - 8.95 a pop. Even the cheap cell phones aren't that cheap, you have to get a contract to go with it that makes it not cheap at all. Not to mention "third world" countries where it would also cost too much. While you can always get a book used, for not that much, sometimes pennies. I am a big believer in recycling books, have sold used books on Amazon as a third party seller, and know that TONS of people buy used books. People project too much from where they are to the future. A list of people that can afford computers and digital cameras may not be the best place for future projections about books, in other words. :-) I also seriously think that more and more we will forgo electronic devices that require charging and more and more go in favor of devices that don't use energy. I really think the energy situation is going to get that bad. Like the electric toothbrush, waste of energy, when a regular toothbrush works as well. I don't bother to write that many long posts anymore. Over the years I came to find it too frustrating and also taking up way too much of my time. LONG LIVE BOOKS!!! Heh.
