The clumsy part of trying to make Pentax mount lenses fully compatible
is the mechanical aperture actuation mechanism, IMO. It means an
additional mechanical linkage timed to the shutter actuation, with
precision movement for setting the aperture on "A" mode or with DA
series lenses.
This is the second in the next wave of camera technology, EVFI - all
Electronic ViewFinder, Interchangable lens - cameras. It is inevitable
that new lens mounts and new lens control mechanisms for full
automation will be needed as these concepts are developed. And the
new, short mount registers, with a much reduced number of potential
mechanical interference bits to worry about, will open up new, better
performing, smaller, lighter, potentially less expensive lenses.
Yeah, this is where I've imagined things would go for a while now. It
will take a while to mature still.

So Samsung brings out its EVIL system that they've been hinting at for
a while. Looks like a reasonably interesting first try, but without a
flip/twist LCD I certainly won't be trading my G1 in on it. I do
wonder if they'll offer something akin to Panasonic's DMW-MA1
converter to give compatibility with K mount lenses (No AF without SDM
but full aperture control would be fairly doable)
