Guess I did not make that  clear.

Probably just luck of the draw.

My little HP printer all of a sudden would print only primary red and green the other day. I checked my records and realized that the last time I changed the ink carts was over 18 months ago, except for the black tank. The status monitor still showed 3/4 full on all tanks. I changed out the secondary colors tank and it was restored to normal operation.
