william, I just went to check on the contents of my paper developer and film developer. I used Edwal for film and Ilford for paper (RC).
Unfortunately, the Edwal doesn't say what's in it so I can't be sure If it can be used with papers, but I doubt it. Also, the dilution ratio is different anyway. I know Dektol (Kodak's paper developer) is normally 1 part soluition to 2 parts h20, whereas D-76 is 1:1... You could experiment a bit but you may just be in for some wasted paper. Remember, B&W film is sensitive to wavelengths that paper is not (hence the safelight). So, I would imagine they react differently to the different chemicals in Paper and Film developers.
