I just noticed this ad on the local craigslist:
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/pho/1070406549.html

It's in Mill Valley (Marin County, a bit north of SF)

I sent a note asking for details about the lenses. On the off chance
that the Tokina is quite fast, or the 50 is a 1.2, I might be
interested in one of them. Maybe somebody closer to the North Bay
could pick it up and ship it to you for less than it would have cost
to repair your MX, if that had been possible.

Every medium suffers from its own particular handicap. Photography's
greatest handicap is the ease with which the medium as such can be
learned. As a result, too many budding neophytes learn to speak the
language too long before they have anything to say." W. Connell 1949
