that seemed like a good deal would be to mention it, but if someone
was bidding on it for them to pipe up and say something.


A couple of years ago I was watching a rather expensive and rare telephoto lens in the hopes that it would go for a more reasonable price than what I was prepared to pay.
It was mentioned on list on or about the day the auction closed.
Whether this pushed the price up or not, I do not know. What I do know is that it went for about a dollar less than my maximum bid, and that I was pilloried on list for winning it for some reason. Please don't mention eBay auctions, not only will you be in trouble for it, but if the winner of the auction is a PDML contributor, you might be getting him or her in trouble as well (not that I understood the logic of it).
