I'm rather surprised about that. Nobody is obliged to analyze anybody's gallery, critically or not. I tend to look at galleries, decide quickly whether I want to spend more time on them, and either look later or walk on by. I don't think you should be discouraged from posting galleries at all. What I would like more people to do when they have more than one picture to show is post a link to a single gallery of thumbnails, rather than a link to each picture. It is far easier and more convenient to navigate a gallery than to keep switching between applications to click links in the email, especially if the pictures in the gallery have next & previous links.
