Subject: Hellow Kitty, Hello Pentax

Please tell me this is a bad joke. After the white KM, anything is possible, I suppose, but surely Pentax wouldn't do this.

As popular as pink compact cameras are with the female population, and as popular as Hello Kitty (tm) is in Japan, I can believe it. Before it folded I sold imaging products at Circuit City, and among the young (and often not so young) female shoppers, pink was a requirement before any other qualification of the camera. They would often buy a lesser quality camera over a better one just because it was pink. There is no accounting for the shopping public. If it is good for Pentax's bottom line I say go for it. Some of the potential buyers may just learn that underneath the pink there is an excellent camera.
