Don't worry on our behalf, Luiz. The internet filters are at present only
being trialed by a handful of minor ISPs. The big three ISPs, Telstra,
Optusnet and iiNet, have either rubbished the concept or only want to
participate in order to prove what a piece of crap the concept is.

The government could face a huge electoral backlash over this. The previous
government was dumped by the electorate because of an unpopular labour
reform which was their pet project, their "Emperor's New Clothes". Internet
censorship will be this government's "Emperor's New Clothes" if they aren't
careful.

As well, everyone but the government itself is convinced that the internet
filters can't be mandated without a change in legislation, which the
majority of our Senate opposes. Proposed legislation can't be written into
the constitution until it has a majority vote in the Senate.
