I'm not sure I understand my question either! I'm trying to understand the concept of TTL flash and failing miserably. I'll try again... I have a metz sca modular system and a module which gives ttl functionality suitable for use with the LX and Super program. I have an MZ-S which I have set to auto. If I use ttl flash, then the flash quenches when there is enough light? If that's true, then the camera must give it some information. If that's true, then the camera must know the flash is there. Therefore the camera should set a default flash synch speed. Say for the sake of argument this is 1/125. Now the camera must choose an aperture. It knows it has a flashgun, it knows how much ambient light there is, what does it choose? If it was a super program it would choose some default according to the film speed (for 100asa f4 or f8 depending on the pentax flashgun) Shouldn't this be the same for the MZ-S? Shouldn't I be seeing someting in the viewfinder other than f4.5 at 1/45 which is more in line with the above? Have I made some faulty assumptions along the line? Does this make sense?
