Minor differences in handling. The LX3 has an integrated grip while the D-Lux 4 does not, but offers a larger bolt-on grip. The JPEG rendering is a bit different and the Leica offers a superior software package. I'd get the LX3 if the integrated grip works for you, but the Leica if you prefer a larger or smaller package. -- M.
