Long-term posters here will probably remember my story of when
I almost missed my footing climbing to a photographer's tower.
While I did avoid falling several feet, and I didn't actually
drop anything, my 250-600 swung around and rather neatly knocked
my MZ-S off the back of the lens (well, most of it - it did leave
part of the lens mount still attached to the lens).
Fortunately the 250-600 itself came through unscathed.

Motorsports photography can be tough on equipment.  My A* 300/2.8
has been knocked off the pitside wall a couple of times, and the
80-200 definitely shows signs of hard use over the years.
