I hope none of you mates in Australia got sunburns watching the
season's first F1 race in Melbourne!
The race started at 7am local time here and I was up and had to be
near
London for a half-marathon (working today). Normally record the race
when I'm working but had it on the box as I was getting ready and
pumping coffee into the veins. Finished off by listening to the end
on
the radio as it happened, the national anthem pumping away as I was
driving over the Lambourn hills to the M4 in lovely light. Go
Brits :-)
Frigging F1 decided to start the race later this year to pander to
the freaking Europeans. It started here at 2-frigging-AM. I really
need to get a Tivo...

Quit your belly aching. The great majority of the season's races are
in Europe, and while you east-coasters can watch it live while you
have toast and coffee before work, we on the west coast have to get up
at 3 or 4 AM to watch. Malyasia will be at 2 AM for us, qualifying and
the race, China at midnight. Then we get back to what gets me up early
for Bahrain, 5 AM.
The F1 website this year is full of information. http://www.formula1.com/
One thing I signed up for (free) is real time timing RSS feed,
along with atmospheric measurements every 5 minutes. The timing is
accompanied by real time commentary from some unknown entity that hits
the highlites every few minutes. Quite a piece of work, the site is.
