...well, in order to sample said drams we're supposed to place them under a fairly complex sequence of operations - and repeat the whole process a few times to ensure proper scientific results... you may assume the actual samples will get completely transformed in the process of their sampling - call it scientific analysis...

I've always heard "dram" as just a small amount of whisky, but you
prompted me to look it up:

I guess it is 1/8 of a fluid ounce.


In other words, a vanishingly small amount of an alcoholic beverage...

Among this crowd, I assume that any amount of good singlemalt is
vanishingly small.
