The new card came today.
It's a monster.
In addition to whaever it pulls from the PCI slot on the motherboard, it wanted two more connectors from it to the power supply. It just barely fit into the case, which is an oversized Gigabyte box.. It takes up two slots worth of space on the board, with one space being taken up by an exhaust port for cooling.
Anyway, once I got the driver installed, all seems well.
It also sounds like I have a small jet engine running under my desk. It's quite a noisy thing.
I'm just farting around getting monitors calibrated and the like now.

Hopefully this cures the problems I've been having with this box, I suppose if it doesn't, there is a new motherboard in my future.
