Well, as long as I don't expect any revolution in the Pentax line of digital cameras, I'm watching as close as I can the news. Saving, I'm not.
I'd rather a FF camera myself, either excelling the low light capture or pushing beyond the 14mp of the K20d. I won't be buying either camera these days, but they would be a sign of future in the Pentax for a lot of us. I used some different brands since my first Pentax, and don't think less of our friends that use their toys and tools from other brands here in the PDML or elsewhere. Proper selection of the tool is a good start, but it's the use we make of our tools the mainstay of our results. I decided to make 2008 my "comeback to photography" year - and purchased a DS to take with me the first part of the way. I should be buying a more capable tool only after I gather myself a new portfolio, get my timing at studio back and finish re-spreading my contacts here. Say, somewhere between august and november, since I just can't ditch the computers and july and december shall be busy months escorting brasilians to Disneyworld. My next tool, to be bought by the end of the year, should give me at least 14mp - there are guys here using the 12mp tools and I won't try to outgun them with the DS, there is very little to be gained proving the smart guys wrong. I won't be bothering much with brands, but specs, features and price. So far, Pentax failed once by skipping selective metering too long, twice by not providing changeable backs (ever) for the 645. No big deal, since I still use Pentax whenever they fit the needs, since 1976. No hard feelings :-) I suspect Pentax will release a FF 35mm sensor sometime, probably into the "645 digital" area. Technically, a mistake renewed - using a too long registry distance, the need for better wide angle coverage made still worse because you can't just re-issue some *** lens with revamped exterior and coating. A very smart move IMHO would be releasing a FF 35mm camera with matched 645 lens adapter AND 5 revamped, 35mm FF *** lenses. Maybe even with aperture rings back. We'll see... ...and I'm glad I'll still be able to chat with you, no matter the tool I select to use - and perhaps even post my photos with dark-side gear... ;-) LF Thibouille escreveu:
Well, I can't disclose directly anything, because: * I dunno anything about the specs (I can guess just ike but not much more) of what is in the body, * I promised (and got'em only because of that and I will respect that) that those pictures would stay on my PC. That said, really, it's time to save :) Those who like buttons and dislike menus should save as well, Those who thinks K10/K20 is a tad too large should save (OK, don't tell me I told you it is K-M sized either), Those who like bigger screen should save (no I dunno the resolution, don't even ask), Those who like old way of attaching straps will upgrade (lol... what an argument ;) Those who like Portrait mode, Macro mode, Landscape mode and one dial only should... buy a K-m or K200. Those who would never want to have their 'trash' and 'play' buttons moved somewhere else should.. not save. What did I forget.. mm well ask if you want ;) But I dunno anything on what's inside (and forget your FF dreams, I can see that my mirror ^^).
