April 25 is a public holiday in Australia and New Zealand. ANZAC is an acronym for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The day commemorates the servicemen and women who served in all wars and those who died. The date was chosen because it was the date of the start of the disastrous Gallipoli Campaign in Turkey in 1915.
