I know you werent scolding -- sorry if I over reacted... you don't know me well enough to know that I've been doing nature photography for years and years and have had to get all the scientific names right etc, for stock... but it was pretty embarassing for me not to remember Hyacinth and other shit is going on too.

but a book called "What kind of flower is this?" sounds well, um, a bit like flora 101 so it stung a bit...

I'm losing it, but I used to have it

Ann, I was not scolding you. It is just a great book...I am sure or mostly sure
that everyone the pentax mailing list has had a senior moment at some time. It
happens to all, even younger folks. Joe

Joe -
I have at least 20 books on flower identification... and it isn't that I didnt' know what flower it was on one level... I couldn't remember the name.... hard to explain.. but I came up with three other "h" flowers that were wrong and so frustrating that just asking someone was easier... I knew it was a flower I knew . sigh. I THOUGHT it was a flower beginning with the letter "h" but after three failed attempts at "h"'s I couldn't face any more failure and no longer thought it was an "h' flower.

This has to do with senior moments.... which are getting more frequent. I once forgot the word "COAL" but I could describe it. There is a great deal of emotional distress involved - so if I ask you guys if you know something - please believe it isn't that I'm lazy or totally unresourceful ... it means I tried several different ways to find the info before I fliply throw out a question... anyway, I wish I had a better shot of the hyacinth... I checked THAT out on google after Paul gave me the name
I couldnt' find.

Just want to make it clear that if I ask for help - I really need it... I don't like to ask for it, believe me.

Thats it!

I was typing in Hibiscus, Hydrangia, Heliotrope, etc... in google and gave up... Instead of being on the tip of my tongue, it wasnt , alas, anywhere near my mouth... or on the tip of my fingers on
the keyboard either.

thanks Paul!
