Fourteen years ago, I accidentally came upon this place at the height of bluebell season. It is a beech wood on the site of an Iron Age hill fort, about 25 miles southwest of Oxford. I thought it was magical, and have been looking forward to getting back ever since. This past weekend we spent an hour there.
