I'm packing for my Chicago trip, and am down to packing the photo gear. Most of the dances will be in fairly dark conditions, so I'm bringing the faster primes, also the 18-250.
It's a tough choice between bringing the 50/2.8 macro and the 2x/macro teleconverter. The TC is more versatile since it'll work on all of my lenses, and it's just a bit smaller than the macro lens without the hood. It'll turn my 50/1.4 into a 100/2.8 macro, though not quite as sharp. It'll also turn my 77/1.8 into a 154/3.6 so I could leave my 135/2.5 at home. Besides, I don't really expect to do any macro work anyways. I almost decided against bringing the DA40/2.8, but that felt too much like leaving a dear friend at home.
