Kingfishers are awesome birds. We have one species on the East Coast of the US called the Belted kingfisher. The little buggers are my nemesis. Never close enough on the lake for a good shot but always chattering around me as if to mock me.

They have very short tails which probably helps them dive for fish.

This shot is better than the first try you showed the other day.
